Error burning DVD+R with LG GH22NP20

ImgBurn burns DVD+RW OK but freezes during DVD+R burning.
The GH22NP20 reads all DVDs, CDs and writes all CDs OK.
Computer is 3.4GHz Pentium 4 with 4Gb memory. OS is XPpro.

The burn that was ok was burned at 4x speed. The one that hang was at 22x. Perhaps try a lower speed than 22x.

I have tried again at 4x speed and failed. It repeatedly filled the device buffer and then emptied it and never got beyond 2% complete even after 2 hours.
                See attached log.
