How do I obtain a format that you tube will accept?

Help! I am trying to upload a newly subtitled video to you tube...have been saving it as subrip (.srt)format but you tube can't process it. You tube says they only accept webm, mpeg, mov, avi, wmv, flv type files. None of these appear as options when I click save as. How do I save a subtitled project as an avi or flv type format? Or some other format acceptable to you tube?
    Thanks for your help!

You need to 'hard code' the subs. ie: embed them into the video.

Then save the video in whatever 'video' format you want (ie: mpg avi wmv)

An srt file is a subtitles file, not a video file.
