trying to burn backup xbox 360 game

I have a 6 year old emachines pc that i put a new hardrive, video card, ram, and processor in, a 2.4 ghz amd athlon 2.5 gb of ram, im using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. i set the layer break accordingly, and followed all the other steps in the guides ive seen, i even killed alot of my programs i have running in the background and unplugged my cat 5 cable from my pc. all suggested by radom guides. I first get I/o error device: asus usb dvdrw drive, cdb 2a00 interpretation write sector 0-32 reason semaphore timeout period has expired. next message is synchronize cache failed
    my device again
    reason access is denied

    And no log.
i did notice that when i was trying to burn the disc with the iso and .dvd file on my hard drive with my operating system on it which is a 5 year old ide 250 gb i got a long log with alot of errors but with the iso and .dvd files on my extra tb sata hard drive i got no log and less errors.
